Meet Dr. Steven Shake (Owensboro, KY)

Steven Shake, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1989. He completed his undergraduate education at Vincennes University and Indiana University in 1985. Dr. Shake completed clinical externships at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and The Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Illinois.

After graduating, Dr. Shake practiced in central and southern Indiana for three years before coming to Owensboro in 1992. His specialty interests include contact lenses and sports vision, and he co-manages LASIK and other refractive surgeries along with cataract surgery.

Dr. Shake enjoys living in Owensboro and working with patients from Daviess and surrounding counties. He is married to Joanna Davis Shake, who has been with the Green River Area Development District (GRADD) since 1994 and serves as Director of Economic Development. They have a daughter, Riley; a son, Connor; and a golden-doodle puppy named Mayberry.
